15 February marks
the British surrender of Singapore to the Japanese during the World War 2. This
annual event reminds us that the task of nation-building is not easy, and that
we must work to preserve our present prosperity and stability.
On
this special day, our school had an assembly programme on the Total Defence Day.
Various uniform groups put up performances for the whole school. The National
Cadet Corps put up a performance and a short skit to remind us that it is our
responsibility to protect our own country. They also performed to us the free
style drills which were awesome. The National Police Cadet Corps also did a
short video clip to remind us to beware of theft cases and gave us some tips on
how to present ourselves from being the victim of theft case. During CCE lesson, videos were shown to us and
we are asked to write reflection too.
Overall,
it was a memorable day that taught me a lot.
