Bugis Street is the largest street-shopping
location in Singapore. Although it is not a well-known tourism attraction, it
is frequented by many Singaporeans. Singaporeans were mostly attracted by the
cheap items sold there. It is a three storey building that sells food, drinks,
mostly clothing and accessories. You can always find the latest trending items
there with the cheapest price possible.
Whenever
I step into Bugis Street, the digital sign boards never fail to catch my eyes. Some
sign boards were made of mini light bulbs shining brightly, saying welcome to
everyone who steps in. These make Bugis Street a more interesting place where
you want to explore even more. My eyes were darted everywhere as there were
lots of goods and offers. Slowly, it becomes more jam-packed like vacuum packed
products. Everyone moved like a snail, turning their heads around looking
bargains.
Bugis Street sells wristwatches, T-shirts, denim pants, shorts, accessories,
bags, wallets, belts, shoes and fashion dresses. The price of a single
item that is already very low can be bought at an even cheaper rate if you
purchase more. With the budget of fifteen to twenty dollars, a fine dress or
shirt could be easily purchased. The items sold there are not only fashionable
and cheap, but most importantly, durable. I enjoy shopping at Bugis Street as
there are really a lot to explore. Every time I visit Bugis Street, there will
always be new arrival items so I will never get bored of it.
If shopping makes one hungry, he or she
can grab a bite at the food stalls for local food to tame their taste buds. There
are food and snacks such as traditional dumpling, waffles and otah. Just look
at the food makes me hungry and saliva flows out of my mouth like water leaking
out of the pipe. If thirsty, there are also drinks and fruit juices to quench
your thirst.
Bugis is also a good place to do window
shopping if one does not wish to buy anything. Often, I went to Bugis with my
family and friends. It is a great place to shop and enjoy ourselves, leaving
our stress aside. It is a place full of memories where I get to develop
stronger family bonds and friendships.
